Dr. Neil Costigan brings over 25 years of effective entrepreneurial and technical leadership in venture-backed startups and global technology corporations throughout the EU and US. Before BehavioSec, he built his career in software development, executive leadership, and entrepreneurship. As the co-founder and CTO at PKI Specialists Celo Communications (Celo) first in Stockholm then California, he advanced the technical strategy, and formed strong strategic partnerships. He also served as Vice President of R&D at Gemplus (now Gemalto), a digital security giant in Aix-en-Provence, France.
A cryptographer by training, Neil received both a B.S in Computer Applications and a M.Sc in Computer Science from Dublin City University. He furthered his education by graduating with a Ph.D in Computer Science for his thesis on Elliptic Curve Cryptography on Modern Processor Architectures. He currently resides in San Francisco, USA. When he isn’t travelling between San Francisco and Luleå on business, he enjoys adventure biking and a friendly match of pool.
Dave is an experienced professional with deep expertise in developing early stage technology and services companies. With over 25 years of experience in Senior Management, Dave wields a rich list of accomplishments in Sales, Sales Management, and Technology Strategy. Dave has provided guidance as an SME in support of M&A, and he brings a proven track record of supporting Operations, Business Development, Product Development, and Executive Management, as well as a deep understanding of building high performance teams. Dave’s operative philosophy is to add value, be relevant, move the needle, and have fun doing what you love.
Dave holds a B.Sc in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology where he excelled on the Lacrosse team. Dave currently resides in Austin, USA.
Olov serves as the Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Partners and is also one of the original founders of BehavioSec. Over the years, while building BehavioSec, he performed a myriad of other roles that included marketing, fundraising, administration, and program management. He is a highly capable, successful, international entrepreneur who brings many talents to our team, keeping BehavioSec at the forefront of the cyber-security industry.
As a thought leader on behavioral biometrics, he has a long track record of successfully introducing this technology to many countries and across continents. Olov holds a BSBA in International Business and Economics from Luleå University of Technology with exchange studies at SUNY Potsdam, USA. His alma mater, Luleå University, awarded him alumnus of the year in 2016. Olov lives in Stockholm, Sweden and is an avid rock climber.
Peder serves as the Director of Engineering and is one of the original co-founders of BehavioSec. As the director, his role is very hands-on with product planning and development. He supervises all engineering staff, efficiently handles all client-support relations, and effectively executes our development releases. His leadership in behavioral biometric innovation and development has equipped him to oversee our entire R&D site in Luleå, Sweden. He previously served as co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at EB Solutions, delivering innovative e-business solutions to food producers.
Peder holds a B.S in Computer and System Sciences from Luleå University of Technology where his thesis work inspired him to launch BehavioSec and create a few of his many patents. Peder resides in Luleå, Sweden.
Josh is our VP of Finance and Administration with decades of experience in technology finance, strategy execution, negotiation of complex software contracts, and business risk assessment. In his role, Josh is responsible for the overall financial strategy, ensuring to meet the demands of BehavioSec’s growth, including those of our investors and shareholders. He has previously worked in management roles at Thomson Reuters, Microsoft, and Ernst & Young.
Josh is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and holds a B.A. in Accounting from St. John’s University. He resides in Luleå, Sweden.
Jordan’s role as our VP of Products drives the vision and growth of our cyber safety solutions while in addition to ensuring quality and client satisfaction. His 20-year career in product management, internet security, cyber security, and cyber safety solutions makes him the best choice to lead our product division. Jordan has held many Product Management roles with global industry leaders like IBM, and Symantec. Most recently as the Director of Product Management at Symantec, he led the complex integration of Lifelock after its $2.3 billion acquisition by Symantec. He previously led early Product Management at FireEye (FEYE), inevitably leading to a multibillion-dollar IPO.
Jordan holds a B.S. from the University of Waterloo with focuses in Biology and Psychology. Jordan currently resides in San Francisco, USA.
Ingo Deutschmann is the VP of Engineering whose role is to spearhead and guide the innovation of new technology, architecture, and features. He is responsible for the entire engineering team and tasked to execute the engineering strategy at the highest level. As a seasoned and exceptionally motivated security professional, he brings with him a strong background in software development, consulting, and product services. Ingo holds an extensive worldwide patent portfolio, ranging from smartcards to behavioral biometric software. Ingo’s last role was as General Manager at Gemplus in Germany, leading security software development and R&D operations. He has also served as Vice President of Development at PKI Specialists Celo Communications (Celo) and was a co-developer of the hardware antivirus solution called ExVira.
Ingo holds a M.Sc. in Mathematics from Friedrich Schiller University of Jena and currently resides in Merseburg, Germany. He enjoys sailing during the summer months and has circumnavigated the globe on his catamaran.
Freddy is an industry veteran with more than 22 years of experience. Freddy serves as an go-to-market advisor to various companies and has held a various C-Level roles at companies like Lastline Roambi (acquired by SAP) Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT) Piston (acquired by Cisco). He has also advised companies like ISS (acquired by IBM), IronPort (acquired by Cisco), Permeo (acquired by BlueCoat), Sarvega (acquired by Intel), Lucid Security (acquired by Trustwave) and Secure Software (acquired by Fortify/HP.)
Freddy holds a B.S. in economics from George Mason University and received various summer fellowships at Princeton, American University, Georgetown and University of Colorado with continued studies at Stanford University. Freddy currently resides in San Francisco, USA.
Alberto Yépez is one of the pioneers of the cybersecurity industry (founder enCommerce in 1995) and has played significant roles as a serial entrepreneur, public company CEO, board member and venture capital investor. He is recognized as one of the leading investors in cybersecurity and for his company building skills. Alberto spent 10 years at Apple, 2.5 years at Oracle and was CEO of enCommerce, Entrust and Thor Technologies. He serves on the board of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) and is chairman of the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC).
Myrna Soto is a seasoned cybersecurity practitioner with more than 25 years of experience as a senior executive and public company director. She has led multiple cybersecurity transformation programs in major communications, media, hospitality, financial services and critical infrastructure organizations.
Most recently, Myrna was Senior Vice President and Global Chief Information Security Officer of Comcast Corporation, which she joined in 2009. In this role, she was responsible for the alignment and development of cyber and data security strategies and policies across the entire Comcast enterprise, including Comcast Cable, NBC Universal, Comcast Spectacor and Comcast Platform Services.
Earlier at Comcast, she was chief infrastructure and information security officer, responsible for enterprise information and infrastructure security strategy and operations for Comcast Cable. In addition, she held information security and technology leadership positions at American Express, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Kemper Insurance and MGM Resorts.
Myrna was recently named to Fortune magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Latinas in Business for the second consecutive year and has been recognized by SC Magazine among the “top 10 Power Players for Women in Security” and among the top 100 Technology Executives by the Hispanic IT Executive Council.
She serves on the board of directors at CMS Energy/Consumers Energy (NYSE: CMS) and Spirit Airlines (NASDAQ: SAVE) and on the advisory board of Bay Dynamics. She served on the advisory board of Skyhigh Networks until its recent acquisition by McAfee and is vice-chair of the board of the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC).
Luke Hakes is a Partner at Octopus Ventures, where he works with the team to identify, invest in and partner with some of the best and most inspirational technology Entrepreneurs across Europe. Prior to helping start the Octopus Ventures journey 9 years ago, Luke began his career as a research scientist in the area of Computational Genetics and latterly went on to spend time as a Technology and Management Consultant specialising in the financial services sector. Since being at Octopus Luke has sat on the board of and worked with more than 20 early stage companies, being fortunate enough to help some of them exit to acquirers like Amazon and Twitter and others to go public. Outside of Octopus Luke sits on the Investment advisory committee of Queen Mary University and is the chairman of UMI3 the University of Manchester’s Innovation Company.
Sami is a software industry veteran with over 20 years of experience from global software business having worked and lived not only in his native Finland, but also in Silicon Valley and Boston. In addition to his extensive operative experience, Sami has also served as chairman, or board member in several successful technology companies such as Bluegiga Technologies, Neo4j, Sensinode, and also recently as co-founder at Kontena. Sami has also been a co-founder, partner and board member in one of the most successful Finnish venture capital firms, Conor Venture Partners. Currently Sami holds board seats in Behaviosec, Negen, and Verto Analytics. Sami holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Industrial Engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology (today known as Aalto University).
